Open Ended Working Group on Ageing VIII Session–  5-7 July, New York & call for inputs by 5 May

Following adoption of the OEWG´s decision 7/1, A status NHRIs will be able to participate at the session. The session will have two focus areas, which will be "Equality and non-discrimination" and "Violence, neglect and abuse". The new Chair-designate of the Working Group, Ambassador Martín García Moritán (Permanent Representative of Argentina to the UN) has requested A status NHRIs to present inputs for the deliberations on the two focus areas of the VIII session.

Call for applications to NHRCK Partnership programme for NHRI human rights officers – Deadline for applications 27 April 2017

This program is designed to share ideas about human rights activities for staff members of NHRIs in all regions to contribute to strengthening exchange and cooperation among NHRIs, including on SDGs, UN Human Rights System, Business and Human Rights. Publication on access to justice for persons with disability – deadline for contributions 4 May 2017

In 2013, the International Disability Alliance (IDA) published a Human Rights Publication Series, with the inaugural edition on the Right to Vote and to Stand for Elections. IDA is seeking to publish the second volume of its publication series dedicated to Art. 13 of the CRPD and to inform this publication would welcome national examples on the Right of persons with disabilities to Access the Justice. To guide responses, IDA developed the short questionnaire attached and would appreciate your collaboration in returning it no later than 4 May 2017.
