SCA Manual

The Paris Principles were adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, on 20 December 1993.

Since then, the UN calls on every Member State to establish a national human rights institution (NHRI) that is compliant with the Paris Principles.

NHRIs are reviewed periodically through an international accreditation process, to ensure their independence, pluralism, effectiveness and accountability in line with the Paris Principles.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Paris Principles, GANHRI irealesed this Manual on the Accreditation process.

The Manual sets out the accreditation process and highlights the work of the Sub Committee on Accreditation in reviewing NHRIs from all regions of the world.
